Photos of aurora is often a challenge, but the reward is; catching a one-of-a-kind image that will be the envy of all! An Aurora is a natural light display in the sky particularly in higher latitude areas. Photos of Aurora can be captured typically in the Arctic and Antarctic regions, and are caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere of northern latitudes. This effect is known as the aurora borealis (or the northern lights), which is named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for the north wind, Boreas. Japanese photographer Hisashi Noboru Sakamoto, better known as just Nori Sakamoto, was so passionate about his love for photographing aurorae that he moved to Canada, where he now spends days in the northern parts of the country roaming through the snow covered wilderness in search for the best landscapes for incredible pictures. This enthusiastic artist sometimes spends hours waiting out in the cold to catch the perfect lighting for his photo, and the results of his perfectionist work are amazing. With purple and green shades of light spreading through the night sky, the scenery is really out of this world. For those of us who are unable to witness magnificent aurorae with our own eyes, Sakamoto made it possible to enjoy the beauty of this strange light play. Here’s nature at its best, photos of aurora create unbelievable scenes which promises to captivate you.
