It’s true that landscape photography is beautiful to look at, but it is as simple as it looks? I guess everybody can photograph landscape, but the catch is to capture it the best way. We have some great tips for you that can come in handy, take a look:

1. You have to remember to use a tripod. You will most likely be using long shutter speed to the small aperture, so having a tripod is a must then. But even if you decide not to use lond shutter speed, you should use a tripod for maximum stillness, and do not forget a wireless trigger.

2. Speaking of aperture, you want to pick a small one because you want to assure that your scene is in focus. Increase your ISO as well because the small aperture is going to darken the photo. The smaller your aperture the greater the depth of field in your shots.

3. You have to choose some kind of focal point to the photo, or else the eyes will wander around and your photo will be boring. Examples of focal points in landscapes can be a rock formation, a silhouette, a building or even a huge or wide tree.

4. Be very aware of the sky in your landscape photos. You can use several filters on the sky that will create more drama and color. A boring sky should not be dominant in your landscape photograph.

5. Nature is full of movement, so make sure that you capture it the best way possible, whether it’s the wind in the trees, a bird flying above you or water falling from a hill. Just be creative, the more movement the more fun will your picture look.

6. Shoot around dusk and dawn, that is the golden hours. The lighting is perfect for photography outside. Avoid shooting in the middle of the day, and work with the weather.

7. Try many different angles, it doesn’t just have to be straight forward. Use your zoom lens and play around, good luck!
