When photographing sports you want to capture all the fast movements in whatever it is: a football game, gymnastics, or basket ball. You just need a few simple tips to make it, it’s not difficult at all. You want to use interesting angles to let the action come to you, or another nice tip is to shoot through the crowd, it’s a great way to capture the motion of the sports event. Use a fast shutter speed to be able to freeze. You want maximum detail and no blur. You can put the camera on sport mode, a lot of them has that kind of mode. You have to always remember to follow the action and move around a lot so you can get the perfect angles and motions. You will have to take a lot of examples because sports is very unpredictable, and there are basically no posing at all. Let the camera do the rest and you’ll get great pictures. Good luck!
